Quick Start

warning
  • ALWAYS turn down the MASTER volume before putting on in-ear headsets or headphones. The Switch Back PLUS is capable of driving most headphones to extreme levels that can damage your HEARING!
  • It is the user's responsibility to prevent hearing damage from excessive headphone MASTER volume settings.

Connecting the System

  1. Connect the appropriate input(s) as shown in the hook-up diagram.
  2. Connect the PRO to PoE+ power such as an in-line PoE+ power injector or PoE+ network switch using unshielded Cat6 cabling.
  3. Set all Mixer Channels and Master Volume levels to 0%.
  4. Connect the headphones, in-ear monitors, and/or line outputs for connecting to wireless in-ear systems, powered monitors, or other devices requiring line-level inputs.

Mixer Adjustment

  1. Route Audio Channels from any other Dante-enabled source to the PLUS using Dante Controller. To create a stereo channel, route the left Dante channel to "L/Mono" on the PLUS and route the right to "R". To create a mono channel, route the single Dante channel to a "L/Mono" input.
  2. Name each source TX channel in Dante Controller to display names on the PLUS's Channel Screen Displays.
  3. Turn the MASTER volume up to about 10 o'clock.
  4. Raise each channel's volume to a comfortable level via the channel knobs.
  5. Avoid adjusting the MASTER volume too high and running the inputs too low.
  6. To pan any channels within the stereo field, press the PAN button and adjust.

Input Adjustment

  1. Adjust monitoring level of the PLUS's inputs by navigating to the Mic/Inst Settings or Line In Settings menus via the MENU Button. Use the appropriate channel knob to raise or lower the volume of the input in the mix.

    note

This will NOT affect the level of the Dante Transmit audio stream.

  2. Adjust Microphone or Instrument Gain and High-Pass Filter settings, by navigating to the Mic/Inst Settings menu via the MENU Button. Use the appropriate channel knob to raise or lower input gain level or toggle the high-pass filter on/off.

    note

These WILL affect the level and tone of the Dante Transmit audio stream as they are applied directly to the input's signal.

  3. Toggle 48 V Phantom Power for the microphone input, by navigating to the Mic/Inst Settings menu page via the MENU button. Use the appropriate channel knob to toggle the phantom power setting on/off.
